Notice the amount of "code" under the four divisions,
Remedial, Civil, Penal, and Political. Also, notice that the Criminal Code is a subset of
the Penal Code. The words "penal" and "political" are essentially
synonymous for the purposes of classifying so-called penalties for violations. The Penal
Code (excluding those sections which are explicitly Criminal Code, see ORS 161.005) and the Political Code are all commercial in
nature, and could as well be titled "Commercial Code."
